Golden hour lasts about twenty minutes, and it never repeats itself exactly. This piece starts there — the particular gold that settles over everything right before the light fades, when even ordinary things look lit from within. The layered washes and tiny stitched bubbles are that light, caught mid-fade: warm, translucent, a little unstable, gone if you look away too long. What do you see when your eyes settle? Quiet momentum? I was painting the feeling right before something disappears — and stitching the small, stubborn things that hold still long enough for you to actually see them.

Details:

This is a mixed media painting with hand embroidered stitches on a 1.38" canvas and unframed. The edges are painted a complimentary color to the design. This piece is titled and signed on the back along with a certificate of authenticity, and will arrive wired and ready to hang.
