OTR 4 ATL - 24x36"
Inspired By:
Every road tells you where to go, but not what it feels like to actually be there — the doubling back, the overlap, the noise of never seeing the whole thing at once. This piece started as a simple brief: paint OTR's home city as a map. But a map flattens exactly what this practice is built to hold — so instead of ink and roads, it's built from thread. Hundreds of individual lines, knotted and stitched by hand, layered until the city reads less like a route and more like a nervous system. Inside that tangle sits one fixed point: three small metal letters, stitched at the coordinates of OTR's own door. What comes to mind when you think about the one place you can always find, no matter how tangled the way there gets? This piece was never really about Atlanta. It's about the relief of having a home base inside the sprawl.

Commissions:
This piece is the first in an ongoing City In A Forest Collection — custom, hand-stitched maps built around a client's palette, brand, or personal geography. The city is always specific. What it's actually about never is. Reach out via the Commissions page to start one of your own, made entirely for you. I would be honored to be part of your story.
